Practice with Difficult Conversation in the Classroom, via Zoom (Academic)
Description:

This session open for faculty and staff will be similar to difficult conversations for advising on October 22 but the focus will be the classroom. Additional framework will be some advice from two books: Crucial conversations: Tools for talking when stakes are high by Kerry Patterson et al., and Courageous conversations on race by Glenn E. Singleton.  The majority of the time will be spent in small groups practicing difficult conversations in the classroom via open-ended scenarios.

In this workshop will explore the alarming rate, challenges, and perpetual injustices involved in cases of murdered and missing Indigenous women, girls, trans, and two-spirit folks, through a series fo activities. We will conclude with a vigil and debriefing session to honor the lives that have been lost.
