Galiñanes, Jr. (Director, Bonner Scholars Program) will present, The
Migrant Caravan in Comparative and Historical Perspective
Images and stories broadcast daily on various media outlets confirm that the
migrant caravan from Central America presents a number of challenges to
international leaders and ordinary citizens. How are we to make sense of this
migrant caravan? And what implications does this wave of migration have for
policy-makers in Mexico and the United States?
This presentation – which incorporates a number of sources – will
analyze the migrant caravan in comparative and historical perspective.
Lunch provided for faculty. Sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
