||This week, Old Main will be lit up with the colors red, purple and blue. These three colors are the theme for Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2021 and will be shone from April 11 to the 18 during the first week of interim. Red represents the communal values of API cultures fostering care of the whole. Purple represents the value of family in API cultures, while also linking red and blue just as this month links Asian and Pacific Islander folks. Finally blue pays homage to the traumatic histories of colonization which affected Asia and the Pacific. With this in mind, let these lights remind us to educate ourselves this month and work to become better allies to API folks around the world, in our country and on campus here at Wofford.
